Just came back from downtown LA bar mogul Cedd Moses' new hotspot THE DOHENY, an exclusive bar where you have to pay a membership fee of something in the tens of thousands of dollars to gain entrance. It opens tomorrow, but I was fortunate enough to be invited by 4copas, who showcased their incredible organic tequilas at the event. I tried two - one that had some alcohols I've never heard of before with some peach bitters and another with fresh squeezed blood oranges, which was a FANTASTIC cocktail served up to us by Mario Batali's former bartender - easily the yummiest cocktail I've had this year. I brought Tracy Hepler of the newly-launched hip and green social calendar yourdailythread.com with me, and we ended the night pleasantly surprised that the organic tequila tasted "smoother than Patron" on its own. 4copas will be at the LOVE IS IN THE AIR eco-luxe bridal salon on Feb. 29th - come try it there while getting a mani/pedi or experience it at the Doheny, conveniently located underneath the AEG / LA Live headquarters.
