7-7-7

The big weddings day is coming up tomorrow: 7-7-7. The amount of phone calls and requests for weddings on this day has been unbelievable, I even got the calls over two years ago. No joke.
We're not only excited about all the happy couples, but we're also excited to see LIVE EARTH's 24 hours of concerts around the world start tomorrow with musicians raising awareness for a healthier climate change.

Cuatro de Mayo

======
Update:
If you're down in San Diego, make sure to stop by the Volcom store and check out the tequila bar, THE LIME. We sifted through pages and pages of tequilas to taste, they had over a dozen different flights of tequila (three 1-oz. shots of different varieties).

Babe's and Ricky's Inn

Last night I went to LA's oldest blues club in South Central LA for some soul food and blues called Babe's and Ricky's Inn. The area is dicey, but it's worth it to experience the singing of Mickey Champion and owner Laura Mae's own finger lickin' homemade fried chicken. No joke, it was amazing! If you're adventurous and romantic, you should check this place out.

The Special Event Show Day One Re-cap
OK, So I saw a lot of crazy things and was surprised that there were only two booths in the entire convention center that had any type of bio / green / sustainable party product. BOO! We're going to change that! But anyways, there were table decorations, balloon artists, delivery truck guys in a tutu, and so much more...it's cool to be around other special event people and see the ideas that they're making reality. I also went to this seminar and saw a presentation on a 3d projection system without glasses that a production house called CMS used for Siemens, HP, and Radio Shack. Pretty awesome. I'll be visiting their offices sometime in the near future and will report more on that later.
The opening night party DIVA BLING was insane. Produced by Charles Banfield, it had a living water fountain, gorillas, Eartha Kitt singing on her 80th birthday, and some sassy costumes.
A quick slideshow can be seen here.

Downtown Fullerton - Cute is What We Aim For & 419 Veronese
I found myself in Fullerton last night to check out this band, Cute is What We Aim For. My friend Star and I felt like old ladies there, and we're only 25. There's Star below, with lead singer Shaant. She doesn't have to aim for cute because she just IS.
After the show, we skipped out on smoking weed in the tour bus and had some delicious tea in this very wonderful cafe, 419 Veronese. Star sipped on pomegranate while I had citron, and a lovely group of Korean women who just finished painting in the cafe's art studio drank wine and ate Korean apples in soft candlelight.

LA scenesters unite for public transportation
I went to this partylast night and unfortunately forgot the camera, but ran into Jason Saunders, artist and founder of the gallery /event space / artists co-op Basswerks, who did have a camera and hopefully he'll come on and post some pics soon.The concept of this benefit for the Metrolink was great, but the execution was sadly disappointing. Your ticket to enter this party was to take some point of public transportation in and show your pass, but of course this wasn't enforced. We went along for the train ride, though, and were very surprised to see how clean and empty the Pershing Square station was. Union Station is beautiful, and this 1938 mammoth structure was complemented in the venue area by projections, a circular stage set-up and hundreds of scenesters in support of public transportation (or the promise of a good party). It's too bad that Shepard Fairey's dj set was so disconnected from the crowd and the space, and the bands were some generic brand of rock that I personally wasn't into because this place was set-up for some major fun.
